YOU can help POWER THEIR TRIP by signing our PETITION today!

Dear Supporter,

Maine moms and other activists, – including our very own Learning Disabilities Association of Maine's Healthy Children’s Project Director Tracy Gregoire   are filling a bus and heading to D.C. next week to take on the chemical industry and they need your support!

We need YOU to add your name TODAY and help us reach our goal of 2,500 signatures to Congress, asking them to pass the Safe Chemicals Act.

We all agree that toxic chemicals don’t belong in consumer products. We also know that dangerous chemicals linked to cancer, learning disabilities, and reproductive harm are found in many products we use every day.

Our nation’s chemical safety system is badly broken… but there is good news. For the first time in over 35 years, we have an opportunity to ensure safer products. The Safe Chemicals Act, if passed, will phase out the worst toxic chemicals from every day products and require manufacturers to provide safety information to consumers and retailers. This bill would help protect all families from toxic chemicals and provide critical information to families and businesses.

Tracy and other Maine Moms will join others from across the United States for a National Day of Action on May 22nd to urge Congress to stand up to the chemical industry and pass the Safe Chemicals Act this year. When asked why she staffing the bus to DC, Tracy said, “I work with so many amazing parents who are incredible advocates for their children with learning and developmental disabilities. While my son communicated in paragraphs at age 2, some of these families have a child who cannot communicate with words or struggles to do the daily activities we take for granted. I am going to Washington to deliver these powerful stories and tell Congress all families need safe products. “ Learn more by watching Tracy’s video (her video is the first video on the page).

Your message will be hand delivered to our Maine Senators and Representatives in DC by Tracy. Please take one minute right now to sign our petition, then share with your friends. Together, we can meet our 2,500 goal!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Sandy Cort
